Apple is About to Take Your At-Home Workouts to the Next Level With the Announcement of Fitness+

Launching later this year, is Apple's new streaming platform, Fitness Plus. The platform will host a range of workout videos including cycling, HIIT, treadmill classes, yoga, dance, rowing, and mindful cool downs, along with tracking your metrics like heart rate, calories burned, and workout time.

There will also be a class called 'Absolute Beginner' that will teach users the basic foundations so that they can tackle the other classes on Fitness+. If you're a little more on the competitive side, (Hi, me!) you can also turn on the optional 'Burn Bar' to see how your stats compare to other who have previously completed the workout. There's also a sharing feature so you and your fitness-loving mates can compare and share workouts.

Another fun feature is that Apple Music subscribers can still play their own tunes while they workout, perfect if, like me, you need some absolute bangers to get you through a HIIT session. The classes will also be synced with your other Apple devices. So if you start a workout on your iPad or iPhone and need to switch to your watch or vice versa, you can.

The only downside (if you can call it that) is that you need to own an Apple Watch (series 3 or later) and/or an iPhone (6s or later, or SE) to stream Apple Fitness+ classes. The service will set you back either $9.99 per month or $79 per year and drops later this year.
