Honey Butter Baked Chicken is a rich and flavorful dinner that has tender baked chicken made with only four ingredients! The blend of honey and butter is the perfect combination for a flavorful chicken dinner.

Chicken is always a favorite protein for dinner in our home. Some of our favorite chicken recipes recently is this Chicken Margherita, Skillet French Onion Chicken and using my Absolutely Perfect Chicken Marinade to make the BEST chicken every time.

Honey Butter Baked Chicken

This is one of those recipes that is good to bring out of the archive every once in a while to change it up. It is super easy to put together and has a really good honey flavor to it. Honey butter chicken is the perfect combination of sweet and savory chicken that bakes it perfectly. Every bite is tender and juicy packed with so much flavor.
Baked chicken is always a favorite of mine during the busy week. It is simple to whisk together all the ingredients, pour over top of the chicken and bake while I am able to help with other things around the house. My girls love how easy this chicken recipe is and knows just how to help me in the kitchen to make it. Add a couple side dishes and make this baked chicken dinner a complete meal.

Honey Butter Chicken Ingredients:

Seriously, only four ingredients to make this simple baked chicken recipe! It comes together so quickly and easily, even you will be amazing at the flavors and tenderness this chicken dinner has to offer.

  • Chicken Breasts: Fresh, thawed chicken ready to be baked.
  • Honey: Thickens the sauce and adds a hint of sweetness!
  • Margarine or Butter: Melted and stirred in for a buttery flavor blend.
  • Mustard: Adds a tangy mustard taste to the chicken while cooking.
  • Salt: Just a pinch!

How to Bake Chicken:

Simply add all the ingredients together and pour over the chicken. Bake it for one hour and dinner is made! It is perfect for a busy weeknight or a simple dinner your family can help with in the kitchen.

  1. Prepare oven: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Whisk Together: Combine honey, butter, mustard and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Chicken: Arrange chicken breasts in a shallow baking pan laying flat. Pour whisked ingredients over chicken evenly.
  4. Bake: Bake for 1 hour, basting the chicken every 15 minutes.

What to Serve with Honey Butter Chicken:

Adding side dishes with this baked chicken is a great idea to make this a complete meal. Bread, salad and a vegetable or fruit is always a great balance for dinner time. I love to serve this chicken recipe with a various of side dishes that are quick and easy to make while the chicken is baking for one hour.

Storing Baked Chicken:

Baked chicken is easy to make with the perfect blend of honey, butter and mustard. It is simple to bake and clean up is even easier. Let the chicken completely cool before adding it to the bag or airtight containers. This dinner will reheat easily and quickly when ready!

  • Refrigerator: Add the left over chicken to a ziplock bag or airtight container and place in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days long.
  • Freezer: Place the chicken in a ziplock bag releasing all the air. Laying the chicken flat, place the chicken on in the freezer for about a month long. When ready to reheat, move the chicken into the refrigerator over night and let it thaw completely before warming up.
  • Warming Up: Bake it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or place in the microwave flipping it every minute until it is warmed through. Add a side salad or some potatoes and you have a delicious meal all over again!

20 Things You Should Pack to Help Ensure You Stay Safe and Healthy on Campus

Packing for college can be an overwhelming process, and although you can purchase a majority of your dorm essentials during that first week, there are some items - yes, including medicines and first-aid supplies - that should be picked up and stowed away prior to drop-off day.

If your parent or guardian is anything like mine, they probably have several college packing lists going already. For me, first-aid supplies were never much of a priority. I was more concerned about my bedding and hanging twinkling lights than stocking up on Band-Aids or checking to see if the bottle of hydrogen peroxide had expired. But the first time I woke up with a hangover, I was grateful that my mom had made sure I packed ibuprofen. Likewise with the allergy pills she snuck into my first-aid kit, because she knew my sinuses would go crazy when the seasons changed. My Year Has Always Revolved Around Sports, but Even I Know It's Time to Shut Them Down

It was one of those moments in sports you just know you'll remember for the rest of your life. The US Women's National Team had played 87 minutes, scoreless, in a match against Spain. The sellout crowd inside Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, had grown relatively quiet, as if everyone in the stands was collectively holding their breath. Forward Christen Press stood at the edge of the field, the ball resting on the ground in front of her. This free kick would likely be the Americans' last chance to put points on the board and bring themselves one step closer to their third SheBelieves Cup.

Then it happened. Press floated the ball to midfielder Julie Ertz, who was surging toward the goal. In one swift motion, Ertz leapt into the air and headed the ball, past the leg of a defender and off the hand of the goalkeeper, into the back of the net. The stadium erupted. In a video my husband took, I'm seen screaming and smiling, as though the world wasn't about to change.

That was March 8, 2020. Three days later, the reigning World Cup champs defeated Japan 3-1 to win the tournament, and I unknowingly left my office in Manhattan for the last time this year. I watched in disbelief as the COVID-19 pandemic ravaged New York, then smaller cities and towns across the country. Within weeks, it became clear that 2020 would be unlike any year before it. But of all the changes that would take place in my life - suddenly, I was commuting from my bed to the dining-room table and spending weeks at a time inside, which made me both lonely and fortunate - losing the sporting events I had always looked forward to was one of the hardest. There would be no NCAA basketball tournament to help pull me through a harsh winter or a Tokyo Olympics to keep me up at all hours of the night this summer. Stadiums sat empty, and a part of me felt empty, too.

I was never very athletic growing up, but like the rest of my family, I had a mind for the complexities of the game - any game - and loved watching others compete. Some of my fondest memories from childhood stem from sports. Hiding my laughter when my dad - at the time, a middle school basketball coach - got teed up for accidentally collapsing a folding chair on the sidelines, as he jumped up to call out a play. Watching with my mom as an injured Kerri Strug landed her second vault at the 1996 Olympics, clenching the gymnastics team's first Olympic gold. Driving 45 minutes to watch many a midlevel hockey game with my brother and parents, then eating so much cheesy bread and pasta at a local Italian restaurant that I thought I might burst.

When I reached college, sports became an important part of my social life. While I've always been a bit of a homebody, I never missed a home game. I'd file into the football stadium early to get a prime spot on the front row of the balcony (it had a better view than the field-level seats) and walk in bitter cold to cheer on the basketball team. I relished talking strategy with my now-husband and hugging friends and high-fiving strangers in the stands. There's a longstanding tradition at West Virginia University where, after a win, the crowd stays behind to sing "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver. The sound of tens of thousands joining in still gives me chills.

I've always struggled to articulate why sports mean so much to me, but I think it comes down to this. Sports have an innate power to bring people together. They unite us around a common goal - and right now, that goal has to be defeating this virus.

I know there are a lot of reasons not to call things off again. Sports bring in revenue for colleges and universities and provide a paycheck to thousands of professional athletes, coaches, training staff, and stadium workers year-round. But the safety of the athletes, the staff, and their families has to come first. At least 10 NBA players chose not to finish the season at Walt Disney World, and nearly 70 professional football players have followed suit, opting out of the upcoming NFL season out of concern for themselves and their families. Both the Big Ten and Pac-12 have postponed all sports through the end of the year. The decisions to forgo college sports, including football, came after officials learned that at least a dozen NCAA athletes who had tested positive for COVID-19 have developed myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle that can affect its ability to pump and cause abnormal heart rhythms. Still, conferences in which dozens of athletes have tested positive for COVID-19 seem determined to move forward.

But at what cost? You could argue that fall sports could have gone on if only we had taken COVID-19 more seriously the first time seasons had to be cancelled. Instead, states reopened swiftly before we had flattened the curve, and college and professional teams began workouts that allowed the virus to spread with abandon. What will happen when athletes begin travelling to games, sometimes states away? How many people will be hurt, and how long will it further delay the nation's recovery?

To me, the choice seems clear. This is just one season, but the long-term consequences for athletes and staff who contract COVID-19 - or bring it home to their friends and families - and even for the country as a whole could be devastating. Athletes will play again, and fans will one day fill stadiums, just as we did before this began. But that day will come sooner if we choose to be on the same team.

A Road Runner Takes to Trail Running

It probably sounds counterintuitive because I work out six days a week, but I consider myself a fundamentally lazy athlete. If I can’t access a workout directly outside my door--or inside my door for trainer rides--it’s probably not going to happen.

I’d like to attribute it to a busy lifestyle that includes working full-time from home and parenting in a pandemic, but I know myself better than to falsely attribute my location inertia to efficiency.

I live in an urban neighborhood, and the road is right outside my door. With the exception of some unpaved paths in parks that cover less ground than a city block, I don’t have any trails within easy weekday distance of said door. And so, despite drooling over social media images of fellow BAMRs taking to the trails, I’ve always stuck to the road--until our recent family vacation at Hard Labor Creek State Park.

It just so happened that there are two mile-long hiking trails adjacent to the miniature golf course near our cottage. While my family hit some balls around the empty greens, I took to the trails.

Oh. My. Gosh. Trails, y’all. TRAILS. I stepped into the canopy and the rest of the world literally disappeared. It was just me, the trees, the wildlife, and all those lovely roots and trees dotting the winding path.

Yes, the views were breathtaking, and I felt solitary enough to cop a squat off the trail, but it was the uneven, injury-inviting ground that earned my undying love.

I adore running on the roads, especially on the downhills, when I let go and let gravity, easily hitting speeds impossible otherwise. That comparison, though, is always in the back of my mind. On the roads, I run on autopilot, listening to podcasts, music, or my own mind.

I have no idea how technical those little trails I ran are, but to a road runner, they felt like a 12 out of 10. I channeled my inner mountain goat: leaping, dodging, weaving, and thanking all that is holy for the work I’ve done strengthening my stabilizers. I couldn’t take my mind off goat mode without risking injury.

A mountain goat does not worry about her pace, or the global pandemic. A goat doesn’t fret about how she can possibly handle virtual schooling of her first-grader, or the uninvited preschooler likely popping in.

No, a mountain goat just runs.

Meet the Founders of Yard + Parish, an E-commerce Platform Focused on Black-Owned Brands

“We’ve always been dreaming together,” says Alesha Bailey about her partnership with Samantha Newell and the creation of their one-year-old e-commerce site, Yard + Parish. The platform focuses on promoting the work of Black creatives, and features products from garments and accessories for all genders to décor and beauty.

The inspiration for the site was “born out of the frustration in not finding products that were right for us,” Bailey says. The duo hail from the suburban locale of Brampton, Ont., and Bailey says that “although we lived in a diverse community, the local stores never considered us in terms of beauty and fashion, and even food. We’ve always felt like we had to go out of our way.”

Newell recalls that their eyes were opened to the world of possibility in the fashion industry after they both moved to the U.K. for post-secondary school–Newell for fashion pattern cutting, and Bailey for architecture. “London was an eye-opening experience in terms of what’s out there,” she says, adding that after completing her initial pattern cutting program that she then invested her time in studying the business side of style.

Coupled with their education, Newell notes that mentorship has played a part in their business’s impressive growth. “We wouldn’t have been able to make as much progress as we have in such a short time if it wasn’t for us being comfortable asking questions to more experienced professionals, family and friends,” she says. “As busy as [professionals] are, don’t assume they’re too busy for you. Knowing that you’re not alone is important.”

After conceiving of the idea for Yard + Parish, Bailey and Newell scoured the internet for Black-owned brands that fit their ethos of ‘discovering the diaspora’. One novel element of the website is its Find Your Nude component, which breaks down skin tone options for customers, and also provides a Colour Match Concierge service for selecting products like Ownbrown’s undergarments and hosiery by Sheer Chemistry. “Now that we’re transitioning away from that idea of ‘nude’ being a single colour, we wanted to make it a lot easier to find your specific match,” says Newell. “Shopping online for undergarments is difficult enough as it is.”

In addition to intimates, you’ll discover an array of vibrant scarves by Life Liveth, jewellery by Relic London, and handbags by De Lovet. “We were mostly looking for things we wanted to try and wear,” says Bailey. “Products that spoke to our Caribbean heritage, that are relaxed and laid back but also luxurious.”

Newell notes, though, that through Yard + Parish, they’re committed to redefining what luxury means. “It’s important for us for the store to be accessible,” she says. “It’s not about how expensive something is, it’s about how well-made and well-thought out it was.” For example, on the site you’ll find items from Toronto-based organic skincare brand Blumseed and Bohten eyewear, which uses reclaimed wood in its designs.

You’ll also find new items that the duo devised to mark their first year in business. The Island Tings capsule features two t-shirt styles, and shares a name with the Instagram Live series the brand launched earlier this year. “We wanted to commemorate our anniversary in true island fashion,” says Bailey, noting that the plantain image found on one of the shirts was created by Toronto-based graphic designer and photographer Emilie Croning. “It’s a very Caribbean and African-unifying fruit, and it’s a great heritage piece to bring the diaspora community together.”

Bailey and Newell say they aspire to bring their community together in a physical way one day, with plans for a pop-up concept brewing–but on the back-burner for the time being, of course. “When and where is a really good question,” says Newell, pointing to the set-back that COVID-19 has placed on this idea.

For now, they’ll continue to connect with customers online. “It’s really nice to be able to reply back to them ourselves and really show them how passionate we are about our products,” Bailey says, with Newell adding that, “It’s comforting to know that what we’re doing is something that our community needs and enjoys. Even when everything is chaotic, people can rely on us.”

You don’t need to look further than Yard + Parish’s Self-Care Sampler Set 2.0, which launched last week, to understand how much the founders care about their fans. “They were curated to make it easy to take care of yourself,” Newell says of the Sets, which include wares from Tanaka, the Afro Hair & Skin Co., and Dew Woods.

Indeed, self-care has been top of mind for the pair in the last few months. “As entrepreneurs and as Black women, it’s tough to take the time out,” says Bailey. With the momentum of the Black Lives Matter movement, the pair have experienced an uptick in their sales–one that has illuminated the potential for Black-owned businesses to cultivate their space in the design landscape. “The most important thing is putting thought and consideration into the products that you buy,” says Bailey, adding that consumers also have to “acknowledge that [being] a Black-owned brand doesn’t necessarily mean it’s only for Black people.”

“Now that we’ve seen what can be, there’s no going back to the way things were,” Newell says about ensuring this interest is sustained. “I encourage everyone who was supporting in the last few months to know that it doesn’t stop there. We’re so grateful for the attention that’s been received recently and want to make sure it continues.”

White Chocolate Oreo Cookies

I declare these the best cookies ever! These are the cookies that become an instant favorite. You know the kind of cookies that you can’t stop eating? And just when you think you can’t eat another cookie you do? And then you fall asleep thinking about them and wake up and eat one for breakfast. These are those cookies.

So perfect that I couldn’t stop at just one. I took the recipe from my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough and added loads of white chocolate chips and crushed oreo pieces. The cookie dough was speckled with oreo cookie pieces throughout and it was incredible! I loved the melty white chocolate and my first bite was amazing. The cookies had a crunch on the inside but were soft, ooey, gooey and chewy in the middle. Perfection!

Oreo Cookie Ingredients:

If you love cookies, Oreos and white chocolate chips these will become your new bff. Trust me. You have got to make them! These cookies have it all. The gooey white chocolate,  and chunks of oreo cookies baked inside a soft and chewy cookie. The cookies turn out perfect every time!

  • Butter: Cream this butter for a smooth batter.
  • Brown Sugar and Sugar: A hint of sweetness and softness using both types of sugar.
  • Eggs: Gives the cookies a nice soft and creamy texture. Plus helps it stick together and bakes evenly.
  • Vanilla: Added for flavor!
  • Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder and Salt: Combined these create a softer, more fluffier cookie that will rise high when whisked together.
  • Oreo Cookies: Crush them up and add them into the cookie mixture.
  • White Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle them in at the end!

Let’s Bake Some Cookies!

It took me a while to become an oreo lover. I just didn’t like eating them plain. I loved them baked in something or even used as a crust. But I wasn’t a huge fan. I am more of an eat the middle of an oreo type of person. But when you bake them in something I am in heaven!

  1. Prepare for Baking: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Mix Together: In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Blend Ingredients: In a stand mixer or medium sized mixing bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and brown sugar about 2 minutes until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients until incorporated. Mix in the crushed oreos until combined and lastly add the white chocolate chips.
  4. Create Cookies: Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Bake for about 7-9 minutes until just starting to lightly brown.

How Do You Crush Oreo Cookies? 

Crushing oreo cookies is a simple process but can be a bit messy. Luckily, it is best to not overly crush the Oreos so there is some texture and consistency in the cookies. Larger chunks of oreo is great and a MUST in these cookies to taste all the flavor.

  • Plastic Ziplock Bag: Place the oreo cookies into the ziplock bag and using a rolling pin or something hard, break the Oreos up into smaller chunks.
  • Blender or Food Processor: You will want to be careful not to over blend the Oreos. Simply add the oreos into the blender and pulse a few times, stirring in between. Try not to over blend.

  • Lining Baking Sheet: Using parchment paper or reusable silicone baking mats are the best way to ensure the cookies are baked evenly and perfectly. This will also help lift the cookies off without them sticking to the pan.
  • Mixing: When creaming the butter and sugars together, add an extra 2 to 3 minutes to enrich that creamy texture. It will help improve the consistency of the cookies.
  • Flour: It is important to have enough flour in the dough. If your dough seems too sticky or wet, simply add in 1 to 2 Tablespoons of flour until it is more creamy texture.
  • Chocolate Chips: For a more chocolatey cookie, add in chocolate chips instead of white chocolate chips.
  • Cookie Scoop: For more evenly made cookie dough balls, using a cookie scoop will help ensure they are all the same size. Once they are scooped then roll into a ball and place on the baking sheet.
  • Baking Cookies: It is best to not over bake the cookies. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet while they are still slightly under baked. Once they are cool, place on a cookie rack to finish cooling and hardening.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup butter softened
  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 Cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 oreo cookies coarsely crushed
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (12 oz) bag

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray with cooking spray.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a stand mixer or medium sized mixing bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and brown sugar about 2 minutes until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients until incorporated. Mix in the crushed oreos until combined and lastly add the white chocolate chips.
  • Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet. Bake for about 7-9 minutes until just starting to lightly brown.

The Common Zantac-Linked Cancer Symptoms You Should Know

According to a report by the American College of Gastroenterology, around 60 million Americans suffer heartburn in a single month. Many try to adopt lifestyle changes to curb the symptoms of heartburn but many use prescriptions and over the counter medications.

Now, one of the most common drugs that have been used for a long time is Zantac, also known as Ranitidine. In 2019, the FDA gave warnings against the use of Zantac for heartburn treatment due to its possible cancer-causing effects. It was found that the drug has a chemical known as N-nitroso dimethylamine (NDMA), which has been linked to cancer. In other words, if you are taking Ranitidine now, it is time to stop!  If you have been taking Ranitidine, you should know that you are at risk for cancer. In that regard, you must watch out for the symptoms of Zantac-induced cancer. Let us take a look at common Zantac cancer signs you ought to know.

This New Collection of Face Masks Was Designed by 4 World-Renowned Artists

E-commerce company Vistaprint has just launched its first artist capsule collection of face masks, created in an effort to normalize mask-wearing while still allowing room for creative expression.

“I have always been comfortable wearing a mask,” says Canadian illustrator/designer Geoff McFetridge, one of the four artists chosen for this collaboration, adding however, “I feel for those who are uncomfortable wearing a mask for whatever reason. Artists and designers can, hopefully, develop options for people. Ideally these designs make some people more comfortable and connected to an object they are putting on their face.”

In addition to McFetridge, the other globally renowned artists tapped for this collaboration are FUTURA2000 from New York, Jen Stark from Miami, and Parra from Amsterdam. The face masks designed by each artist reflect their own unique style and creative influences.

McFetridge created two different designs: one is titled ‘Us From a Distance’ and features a socially distanced group of people. “I have done a number of works over the years that have a “crowd” theme,” explains McFetridge in a press release. “With the crowd images I draw I am interested in how an image can connect with how we interact, how we see ourselves in the world. A landscape of individuals. In this case… keeping six feet of distance.”

His second design, titled ‘All of Us,’ features multiple hands (in both monochrome and multicolour options). “Hands are this very basic image; in this image I treat them as you might see camouflage or paint strokes. The hands are less individuals than they are pieces of a whole. Each hand holds the other up like fibres woven together.”

The graphic black-and-white masks from FUTURA LABORATORIES​, a design company and lifestyle brand created by artist ​FUTURA2000​, were designed to be “benign,” according to the artist. “In this instance, I almost feel like the graphics take a back seat to the practical function of wearing a mask.” In collaboration with FUTURA LABORATORIES, Vistaprint will donate a portion of the proceeds of the mask sales to ​Free Arts NYC.

Meanwhile, American artist Jen Stark created vibrant designs “inspired by elements found in the natural world, such as plant growth, microorganisms, and sacred geometry,” adding that she wanted the patterns “to create a sense of movement and have an optical illusion type feel.”

Lastly, Dutch artist Parra, known for his saturated colours and post-Pop imagery, designed masks illustrated with birds flying through the sky. His striking design comes in two colourways: one a minimal black-and-white, the other an eye-catching palette of pinks and blues.
