Sandy Leong and Gemfields introduce the Sol collection
With nearly ten years behind her as a sustainability-focused jewellery designer, Sandy Leong chose to collaborate with gemstone supplier Gemfields on an offering of pieces that are made with “responsibly sourced emeralds, 18 karat recycled gold and conflict-free diamonds,” as noted in a press release. Running the gamut in featuring everything from petite diamond pavĂ© earrings to extravagant cuffs, 10 percent of sales of the Sol collection will go towards benefitting children and education-focused initiatives via the Gemfields Foundation. The assortment goes on sale on World Water Day — Monday, March 22 — in an effort to raise awareness about conservation projects with which the Foundation is involved.

Fragrance fans have a reason to rejoice with yesterday’s drop of the newest addition to Chanel’s media platform, Inside Chanel. Reformation launches a denim collection featuring FibreTrace technology
In a big step for transparency in the fashion world, L.A.-based lifestyle brand Reformation — which prides itself on a sustainably-minded approach to design — has released a collaborative line using FibreTrace’s embeddable technology. According to a press statement, it adds “scannable, luminescent pigments into the fabric, allowing Reformation customers to follow the denim’s entire lifecycle from fibre to production to finished garment, to when it’s in their own hands.” As the first U.S.-based brand to incorporate FibreTrace into its goods, Reformation focused on an American style essential — denim — for the launch of its Good Earth Cotton capsule. You’ll find six pieces within the novel release, from four styles of jeans to a pair of shorts and a jacket.
