A Megan Thee Stallion x Revlon ‘Hot Girl Sunset’ Makeup Collection Drops Tomorrow

If the never-ending rain and humidity have made it hard for you to have a hot girl summer this year, help is on the way. The new Megan Thee Stallion x Revlon collection, called “Hot Girl Sunset,” is about to launch with everything you’ll need in your makeup kit. Since joining the Revlon family last year, Megan has appeared in campaigns and video tutorials for the makeup brand, but this will be her very first makeup collection with Revlon.

Megan Thee Stallion x Revlon set

The Megan Thee Stallion x Revlon collection will be available to shop as of tomorrow, July 28th at 12pm EST, exclusively on StockX via DropX. But the direct-to-consumer product release method on the e-commerce marketplace has a catch: quantities will be extremely limited. Only 450 sets have been produced, so if you want to get your hands on the Hot Girl Sunset collection, you’ll have to move fast.

The Megan Thee Stallion x Revlon collection includes everything you need for a hot girl summer (a phrase that Megan officially trademarked last year, by the way), including a face and eyeshadow palette complete with 10 different matte and shimmer shades hand-picked by the rapper herself (ranging from gold and warm earth tones to smokey rose and violet), false lashes, lip gloss and a makeup pouch.

The collection’s packaging has been inspired by a combo of Megan’s love of anime and a warm, sunset vibe that’s perfect for the season. Not only is the collab the rapper’s first collection with Revlon, but it also marks StockX’s first-ever makeup drop via Dropx. “Given the palpable excitement around Megan, we wanted an unexpected launch model to match it,” says Revlon GM, Chandra Coleman Harris, of the limited edition drop on StockX.

How to keep your legs smooth all summer long

Shaving might not be at the top of your summer to-do list, but having smooth, silky legs definitely ranks pretty high for most. Plus, rising temps mean that skirts, shorts and dresses are out in full swing.

As things slowly begin to return to some semblance of normalcy, it may be getting harder to set aside time for some personal self-care. That means having days where you have to put it on the back burner. It doesn’t help that shaving legs can feel like a chore, especially when you’re in a hurry—and we all know that rushing can lead to accidental nicks and cuts, not to mention problems like ingrown hairs, razor bumps and burns.

Luckily, you can speed up the process without compromising on getting a good shave, thanks to four easy, time-saving steps, and Schick Intuition’s 2-in-1 time-saving razor.

Here’s your shortcut to staying smooth all summer long.

Buff and smooth skin

Exfoliation is key to keeping legs smooth, but the benefits go beyond that. In addition to sloughing off the dead skin build-up that can prevent you from getting a smooth shave, exfoliating also prevents your razor blade from getting clogged up. Remember that you should always exfoliate before you shave. You can dry brush before hopping in the shower or use exfoliating gloves while you’re in the shower. If you love physical exfoliators (the grainy kind made with ingredients like salt and coffee grinds), skip them if you’re shaving since they tend to be abrasive and can cause micro-cuts on your skin.

Lather and shave

A high-quality razor makes all the difference between a great or a lousy shave. The Schick Intuition 2-in-1 Razor is perfect for anyone on the go. Designed to simplify your shaving, this razor combines lathering and shaving in one easy step—that means that you can save even more time by skipping the shave gel. Its four-blade design allows for a closer shave while the pivoting head follows the contours of your legs and body to minimize irritation. The blade is also surrounded by a moisturizing solid that contains ingredients like 100 per cent natural aloe and vitamin E. It’s hypoallergenic, gentle on even the most sensitive skin and the handle’s rubber grip allows for a precise shave.

Tip: Remember to wet the skin with warm water before you go in with your razor to soften the hair. To get the most comfortable, pain-free shave, save the shaving for last.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Moisturizing might seem like an extra step, but just like in your facial skincare routine, it’s essential. Apply a body lotion or oil on your legs right after you hop out of the shower (on damp skin is best). This will help seal in moisture and keep any irritation that might occur at bay. If you’re on the sensitive side, opt for a fragrance-free formula.

Turn up the glow with self-tanner

This last step is optional, but a great one if you’re looking to add some warmth to your pale, winter legs. Applying self-tanner takes some advanced planning. Remember to shave before use to ensure you have a smooth canvas, which will help you avoid any patchiness. For best results, shave at least 24 hours prior to application. The new Hawaiian Tropic Aloha Glow Gradual Tanning Milk or the Express Tanning Mousse are both easy, fuss-free formulas to add a natural-looking glow. Plus: They’re both dermatologist-tested and leave your skin hydrated and streak-free—ideal for self-tanning novices on a time crunch.

Ready for your smooth transformation? Head to amazon.ca to try Schick Intuition’s 2-in-1 Razor yourself.

Shop Local, Queer Art in Support of LGBTQI+ Communities — and Help Save a Life

A piece of art is the easiest way to quickly transform your living space. Now, you can add a new print to your home and do some serious good at the same time. Like, help save a life good.

CRUSH is an exhibit curated and presented by XPOSED — a collaborative content platform that highlights inclusive culture, fashion and arts, co-founded by FASHION’s very own creative and fashion director George Antonopoulos — in collaboration with Yorkville Village. Running until July 31, the curated show features pieces from six queer Canadian artists in celebration of Pride Toronto 2021. The works create colourful, sensory experiences that portray real-life moments in unique and unexpected ways.

Best of all? All proceeds go to Rainbow Railroad, a global not-for-profit that helps LGBTQI+ people facing prosecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. To date, the organization has helped over 1,600 people in the community find safety from systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia through emergency relocation, often to Canada.

The artists featured at CRUSH include: Terran McNeely, a Toronto-based painter who works primarily in oils and acrylics and is inspired by a contemporary male representation; Samantha Garritano, a multi-disciplinary creator who is also known by the name Sultana Bambino and creates work driven by justice and community; Zachari Logan, whose drawings, ceramics and installations have been displayed around the world; Toronto’s Bruno Billio, who creates challenging installations, sculptures and designs; Adrienne Crossman, an interdisciplinary artist based in Hamilton, Ont., who uses their work to highlight queer sensibilities in the everyday; and illustrator Alexis Eke, who is inspired by renaissance portraits, her faith and earth tones and is on a mission to increase the representation of Black women in design.

Check out more of the incredible work by other artists available below. If you’re in Toronto, you can head over to see the exhibit IRL at The Fix, on the lower level of Yorkville Village. You can also shop the art until July 31 at projectxposed.com.

What to Do, See and Eat in Lake Louise, Alberta

With everything that has been going on over the past year, it’s no secret we could all use a rejuvenating escape. Luckily, the most awesome points of interest are sometimes close to home. We tapped four guides from across the country to send you on a road trip to remember. From where to eat to what to buy, here’s how to make your next local excursion a truly bon voyage. First up, a jaunt to Lake Louise, Alta. courtesy of vocational rehabilitation specialist, Chinenye Otakpor.

Favourite things about this spot

“I love Lake Louise for the stunning views and fresh air. Especially with travel restrictions, it’s a perfect getaway when things feel too heavy. The drive itself is peaceful and breathtaking. Every time I visit, I’m in awe — like I’m seeing the lake for the first time.”

What to pack

“Water — I consider it an essential health and beauty item. Also, a roomy tote bag and blotting powder for touch-ups. There are so many places to take amazing pictures, so you want to make sure you look your best! And I recommend bringing a chic scarf to protect your hair and ears in case there’s wind. As the weather warms up, I’ll be switching from chunky knit scarves to satin ones.”

Photography by Jackson Dematos

Best place for coffee

“Try the Snowy Americano at Trailhead Café. It has a great menu, and it serves breakfast all day.”

Notable places to nosh

“In the warmer months, you can picnic right by the lake. That’s on the to-do list for my boyfriend and me this summer. As for dining and takeout, Mount Fairview Dining Room is amazing.”

Favourite local shop

“The Viewpoint has a wonderful selection of book titles.”

Photography courtesy of Pipestone Quarry

Best place for souvenirs

“Pipestone Quarry. It sells rocks, semi-precious gemstones, minerals, fossils and other collectibles.”

How to get there

The Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo’s Performance Battery Plus means more distance.

Marc Jacobs Isn’t Hiding His Facelift

There are very few certainties in life, but perhaps the most obvious one is that everyone gets older, plain and simple. The aging process doesn’t care how much time, money, and effort you put into staying eternally youthful. Sure, you can keep certain signs of aging at bay, but in the end, biology will always win.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Marc Jacobs (@themarcjacobs)

Through a very candid (and perhaps a little graphic) selfie, fashion royalty Marc Jacobs gave us a glimpse into his own relationship with getting older. Dressed in a helmet-like array of bandages, pumps and tubes covering his head, the designer appeared to be in a hospital room. While most who see this photo would naturally come to an alarming conclusion, the caption nonchalantly reads “Yesterday” with the hashtags #livelovelift and #f*ckgravity. Just a casual facelift!

Although a high-profile person of influence getting cosmetic surgery is hardly news, it was a breath of fresh air that the 58-year-old was so honest with his 1.6 million followers. How a celebrity stays so fresh-looking is usually shrouded in mystery, with the internet’s Sherlock Holmes wannabes trying to decipher “did they or didn’t they?” Clearly, Jacobs isn’t alone in his facelift, so why aren’t more famous people talking about their cosmetic procedures? And why does this photo of an American icon feel so defiant?

Quite simply, it’s all about transparency. In the era of Lizzo’s and Demi Lovato’s body positivity, embracing your age has been left somewhat behind. According to the 2020 Plastic Surgery Report, 234,374 people in the U.S. underwent the procedure in 2020… during a worldwide pandemic. Often regarded as a dirty little secret, admitting to plastic surgery is admitting to aging. The message until now being that if you have to age, please do it quietly where no one can see you. (And if you do get work done, do make sure it is adequate but discreet. Just look at the reactions to the cast of Sex and the City filming the And Just Like That reboot — Sarah Jessica Parker looks too old for some, while Kristin Davis looks overly injected to others. It’s almost impossible to win.)

By sharing his post-surgery selfie, Jacobs has reclaimed his agency and his power: He gets to control the narrative before the conversation has even begun. While the designer has always walked to the beat of his own drum, the Instagram post dared people to comment — to throw tired insults at him and wait for the proverbial mob to follow. What happened next was the exact opposite.

Twenty-four hours later, Jacobs has more than 46,000 likes, and 936 comments, most of them positive: RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage posted “Good for YOU;” model Carolyn Murphy wrote “Can’t wait to see the results;” Puma’s creative director June Ambrose commented “The transparency is everything! Snatch it darlinggggg! Happy healing;” and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna sent ten party and dancing emojis.

While the world anxiously anticipates Jacob’s reveal, we hope this is the start of healthier conversations surrounding plastic surgery. It’s time to own it and move on already.
