Halsey Announced the Arrival of Their Baby in a Heartwarming Instagram Post

 Content warning: Pregnancy loss.

Halsey just announced the arrival of their first child with partner Alev Aydin. In an Instagram post shared on on July 19, the singer confirmed the arrival of their baby, named Ender Ridley Aydin, on July 14. Halsey shared two black and white photos, the first showing them caressing their newborn in a hospital bed while their partner leans in. “Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Powered by love,” they wrote in the caption. We’re not crying, you are!

Halsey, whose pronouns are she/they, has been dating screenwriter Alev Aydin since March 2019. The couple has been going strong throughout COVID-19, and even got matching tattoos back in June 2020. In January of this year, when the 26-year-old singer announced their pregnancy on Instagram, they revealed Aydin was the father by tagging him in the post — right on their baby bump, to be exact!

Over the past few months, Halsey shared their pregnancy journey via an assortment of adorable baby bump snaps. In February, they opened up about how pregnancy changed their relationship with their body in a lengthy Instagram caption.

“I’ve been thinking lots about my body. it’s strange to watch yourself change so quickly,” Halsey wrote under a photo dump of selfies, food pics, and an outtake of the infamous pregnancy horror film Rosemary’s Baby. “I thought pregnancy would give me very strong, binary feelings about ‘womanhood’ but truly it has leveled my perception of gender entirely.”

This was not Halsey’s first pregnancy journey. The star has shared that they’ve suffered multiple miscarriages as a result of having endometriosis, and in 2018 they decided to freeze their eggs because of it. Back in March, the singer shut down speculations about whether their pregnancy was planned, saying they’ve worked hard to make it happen. In an Instagram Story, they wrote, “My pregnancy was 100% planned, and I tried very hard for this bb. But I would be just as happy even if it were another way.”

Halsey’s pregnancy has also informed their art. The recently released cover for their upcoming album shows them sitting regally on a throne, donning a golden crown and holding a baby while one of their breasts is exposed. “This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth,” they wrote in an Instagram post sharing the image. “This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired.”

Halsey’s forthcoming album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, will be released on August 27. We wish them all the best in parenthood!

The Cutest Summer Camp-Inspired Jewellery to Wear All Season Long

Remember sitting on your bunk bed, making friendship bracelets with your BFF and wearing them until they basically disintegrated from your wrist? Well, handmade, summer camp-inspired accessories are making a major comeback. As we collectively reminisced about more carefree times while *actually* spending most of our time at home in recent months, nostalgic, craft-inspired jewellery became an optimistic representation of how we want to feel right now. Whether you’re reading a book at the beach or going on an impromptu road trip, these playful, vibrant baubles are the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe.

This trend is not new by any means — many jewellery designers, such as Roxanne Assoulin, Éliou and Susan Alexandra, have long made colourful beaded adornments their signature. Celebrities are also fans of the cheerful, cheeky finishing touches. Harry Styles almost broke the internet with his Éliou pearl necklace in his Golden music video while street style mavens Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner are often spotted with layered chains. And most recently, SNL star Pete Davidson attended Wimbledon with his girlfriend, Phoebe Dynevor, wearing a pendant-style beaded necklace.

From pieces made with glass beads and alphabet blocks to those crafted with baroque pearls and real diamonds, there’s a camp-inspired style to suit everyone. Click through the gallery below to find some of our favourite pieces to match with your best friend.

Britney Spears Calls Out Fake Supporters in New Instagram Posts

Unfiltered Britney Spears has entered the chat. Following her victory in court on July 14, where a judge ruled that she can be representated by a lawyer of her own choosing in her ongoing conservatorship battle, Spears is using social media to make her voice heard. Now with seemingly full control of her Instagram account (as a refresher, fans have long questioned whether Britney is indeed managing her own Instagram account), the star is speaking more freely about her conservatorship and calling out those in her inner circle for supporting her publicly “just to save face.”

For days, Spears has been posting on social media about her 13-year long conservatorship, of which her father Jamie Spears is co-conservator. On July 16, the singer posted a cryptic quote on her Instagram that read, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask.” In the caption, she made it clear that the message was directed at those closest to her.

“There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support,” she wrote, adding that the people she loves most didn’t help her when she needed it. “How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again … NO … so if you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!!”

She ended by saying, “Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny,” followed by a slew of exclamation marks and middle finger emojis. It doesn’t take much investigation to discern that one of the people at which this message is likely directed is the star’s little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. On June 28, the younger Spears spoke out publicly for the first time about her sister’s conservatorship, saying on Instagram Stories that she has only ever “loved, adored and supported” her. This was called into question by many #FreeBritney fans because Britney Spears said in court that her family has benefited from her conservatorship, and stood by while she suffered.

Britney post again on July 17, this time calling out Jamie Lynn directly. Underneath a picture of a quote that read, “Take me as I am or KISS MY ASS, EAT SHIT AND STEP ON LEGOS,” Spears voiced her anger with her father and sister, while responding to criticisms about her recent posts of at-home dance routines.

The pop star is done with on-stage performances as long as her father remains co-conservator and in charge of “what I wear, say, do, or think,” she wrote. Her at-home dance videos are a way of her reclaiming her desire to perform, without having to endure the exploitation under the conservatorship. She went on: “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!!” She is seemingly referencing the 2017 Britney Spears tribute at the Radio Disney Music Awards, where Jamie Lynn and others performed a remix medley to her older sister’s songs. Looking back at clips of the performance, fans were quick to point out how underwhelmed the older Spears sister looks at the Jamie Lynn Britney tribute.

She went on to say that the conservatorship has killed her dreams, and that hope is all she has left. On July 18, Jamie Lynn Spears posted a selfie with a caption that didn’t address any of these claims but simply said, “May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit.” And, in her newly outspoken fashion, the older Spears sister seemingly responded in a post of her own, writing in part, “May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today.” Hours after this response was posted, Jamie Lynn removed her caption, but not before fans took notice. Britney Spears has since also removed her response from her caption.

Celebs like will.i.am, Tinashe and Paris Hilton — along with thousands of fans — have commented in support of Britney Spears using her newfound voice on Instagram. For years, the singer never commented publicly on the #FreeBritney movement or her conservatorship battle. Her online persona was always overly curated and questionably positive, never acknowledging the ongoing controversies surrounding her case. This led fans to believe that she did not have control of her social media accounts, often looking for hidden messages from the star. In contrast, her recent posts display a more direct and seemingly genuine social media presence for the star. If this is indeed Britney using her voice, we’re in full support of her completely justified anger.

Tommy Hilfiger has announced the launch of its Summer Pre-Fall 2021 Tommy x Indya capsule collection. Co-designed by non-binary actor and activist Indya Moore, the collection emphasizes that great style knows no boundaries with its wide size range and genderless designs. “This capsule goes beyond great style,” said Moore in a press release. “It breaks a cycle and sets a new standard across the industry. Too many people are made to feel that something is wrong with them just for being themselves. It means everything to me to know that with our capsule, no one is made to feel wrong or different or broken. Everyone works perfectly for this collection, no matter who they are.”

This collection aligns within Tommy Hilfiger’s People’s Place Program, and its goals of advancing representation in fashion and creating opportunity for creatives from underrepresented BIPOC communities. As part of this collaboration donations were made to three causes that resonate with both Moore and Hilfiger’s values: Rainbow Railroad, Reuniting of African Descendants (ROAD) and Global Coralition. Starting July 20, the Tommy x Indya collection will be available globally on tommy.com.

Eight new pairs of sunglasses offer a creative punch of colour and unique pizzaz, thanks to JW Anderson’s outside-the-box thinking and quirky approach to style, and the rich visual history of Persol.

The notable collection is brought to life with the graphic classicism of stylist Benjamin Bruno, sculptural hair creations by Jamaican-American hairstylist Jawara and photography by Tyler Mitchell. “I really wanted to work with Tyler. He is such an incredible artist and photographer. I wanted images that became kind of poetic miniatures, almost like windows,” said Anderson. “I love what Jawara does as well. His hairstyles are amazing and helped creature this incredible portraiture that you somehow can’t place in time.”
